Session A: Overview of EMI in Higher Education
Introduction
Welcome to Session A of Module 1. In the first Lecture, Dr Galloway explores the growth of EMI in higher education around the world. In the second lecture of Session B, Dr Galloway explores the key driving forces behind EMI and introduces some of perceived benefits of EMI at the national, institutional, and individual levels.
Before working through the key input for this module, we recommend you try the following tuning in activities. They’ll help you establish what you already know about EMI in higher education, as well as reflect on your current beliefs and practices in relation EMI and EAP/ESP.
For some questions, you’ll see space to type in your thoughts. Many course participants find typing notes of their thoughts helps them process and organise them. However, doing so is completely optional.
